SAMD’s HSEQ MANAGEMENT

SAMD recognizes the industry significance of achieving excellence in HSEQ control. Our in-house HSEQ Manager is responsible for setting the HSEQ Management System’s strategic objectives in line with our local government and industry regulated standards and ensures that necessary steps are taken to achieve such objectives. Having a dedicated resource driving HSEQ initiatives against predetermined milestones ensures that the working environment systematically becomes safer with emphasis on: Cultural change, improved installation methods, Innovative tools, PPE and apparatus and thereby reduce NM’s and PI’s that will significantly reduce risk of a major incident.

 

Standards and Accreditations:

 

SAMD boast a robust HSEQ Management System, where we hold the following accreditations and certification:

1) HSE Customer Compliance Accreditation Certificates – in place with major oil companies we do business with.

 

Quality Management Standards and Certification

2) SAMD also currently operates as an accredited Verification Laboratory in accordance with:

 

  • South African Country Law, the Legal Metrology Act 2014 (Act no 9 of 2014),and
  • The applicable local standard, SANS 10378: General Requirements for the competence of verification laboratories.

 

3) SANS 1020: Power Operated devices for dispensing flammable liquid fuels

 

4) ISO 9001:2008 : Quality Management System Requirements

 

SAMD annually measure HSEQ performance against the following KPI’s:

  • SAMD retain full compliance with Customer HSE compliance requirements
  • Lost Time Frequency Rate (LTFR) does not exceed 10
  • Incident Severity Rating (ISR) no less than 5
  • Near misses do not exceed 7 per department.
